In August 1997, the Montreal Children's Hospital joined with the Royal Victoria Hospital, the Montreal General Hospital, the Montreal Neurological Institute and the Chest Institute to form the McGill University Health Centre. The MCH is responsible for the care of children and adolescents within the MUHC.

Council for Services to Children and Adolescents (CSCA)
The Council for Services to Children and Adolescents (CSCA) was also created in 1997 to ensure the needs of children and adolescents and families are met within the MUHC. The CSCA reports to the Board of The McGill University Health Centre. Its responsibilities include, but are not limited to, monitoring, evaluating and making recommendations concerning orientations, priorities, strategic plan, policies and budgets regarding pediatric and adolescent services.
