MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS FOR VOLUNTEER REFERENCE LETTER
The reference letter must contain the following key elements.
Failure to do so will delay the application process.
For applicants wishing to work with children the letter must:
Describe your experiences with children.
Be addressed to:
Volunteer Services at The Montreal Children's Hospital,
2300 Tupper Street, Room C-537,
Montreal, Quebec, H3H 1P3
Preferably be written on letterhead (when not possible, the full name, address & telephone number of the person writing the letter must appear).
Be signed by the person who wrote the reference letter.
Only the original copy will be accepted.
Be written within the last twelve months.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The person writing the reference letter must emphasize the applicant's reliability and competence with families and children who will be entrusted into your care.
The letter could be written by an employer, professor, manager of programs/association, or professional health care worker. It cannot be written by a parent, family member or a friend.
For example: a professor who knows you well, who trusts you, and knows that you have experience with children, could write a letter based on the information you give him.
** For applicants wishing to do clerical work:
the same requirements apply, except that your personality traits such as people skills, sense of autonomy, reliability and discretion must be mentioned.
Individual interview will be scheduled. (Upon reception of the documents mentioned in #1), 2 official photo identification cards must be presented (e.g. medicare, Passport, driver's permit, etc)
Appointment will be made with the Occupational Health Department of the MCH at this time.
